City of Shapes fall 2017 project

In the city of shapes project we worked on building a city out of many different types of geometric shapes. We had to make 18 different buildings and we could put are own type of flare on the buildings. We put roads , windows , sidewalks, and my other things to accomplish what a city looked like to us.

In the mini-golf course project we learned how to use many different tools like the offset command button and the hatching tool. We also learned about the diameter of a circle and how to place it into correct spots. We also made a golf course in sketch up. We had to make a layout of our golf course

About

My name is Dow Dunton and I am a student at Heritage High School. I was born April 2, 2000 in Orlando, Florida and  I currently live in Wake Forest, North Carolina. I moved to Wake Forest this past summer, just before my senior year.

Before coming to Wake Forest, I lived in Davidson, North Carolina for two years. I live with my parents Dean and Kirsten Dunton, and my younger brother Redford who also attends Heritage High School. I am in the 12th grade at Heritage and have attended three different high schools. Before coming to Heritage I attended Hough High School in Cornelius, NC and Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, GA.

I have always been active in sports and have played varsity Basketball and Baseball all four years of high school.

During the summers I stay very busy playing travel basketball and baseball. This past summer I played all over the United States with the the Garner Road Basketball Club based in Raleigh. We traveled to Texas, Nevada, Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. I am proud to have been named the captain of my Garner Road team.

My family has always been active as volunteers in the church and community.  This has afforded me the opportunity to do the same. In the past, I have volunteered serving food at shelters and at the Ronald McDonald House.  I also help coach at summer basketball camps for kids in elementary school.  I generally focus on how I can use my athleticism and knack for relating to kids to help in my community.

My interest after high school is to go to a four year college where I can earn a degree in sports medicine or sports management.  I would also like to play basketball and/or baseball at the college level while earning my bachelors degree. After undergraduate school, I would like to earn my Masters while coaching basketball as a graduate assistant.

In the future I would like to travel the world and play basketball and eventually coach at the collegiate level.

I would also love to have a wife and family when I’m older.

Sketch up Skyscraper- Resona Haruhra

For this project we had to make a resemblance of a skyscraper from around the world. I chose this skyscraper from China. The hardest thing about this project was putting all the detail.

Checkers - Fall 2017

For this project we learned about the array commands for rectangles and circles. It showed us how to make multiple lines and other things.

Beach House Project 2017

My house I created was made to look like a West coast beach house. The entrance to the house and also the back where the pool is the focal point of the house. I put a lot of details into the windows and doors. The difficulties I had was with the stairs and how to make them. This project was very time consuming but it was also very fun because we used our imagination to create whatever we wanted. If I had to give myself a grade I would say it's a 100 because of all the detailed trim I did on windows and doors all around the house.
